MicroFine^TM is an exclusive material developed at Protolabs that can build parts with a minimum feature size of 0.0025 in.—yes, that’s not a typo. MicroFine^TM parts are built in 0.001 in. thick layers in order to achieve industry-leading accuracy and precision. In terms of its mechanical properties, the material is fairly durable, rigid, and most similar to an ABS plastic. It also comes in two color options: green or gray.

Watershed is a strong, water-resistant ABS-like material. It’s often used to build clear parts, making it ideal for prototyping lenses and microfluidics.
Metal plating can be applied to ceramic-filled composite parts in SLA. The thin metal coating improves strength and temperature resistance without adding significant weight
